Reading a batch of documents

Thirty loose documents become a sorted, coded, totalled table, with everything that looks wrong flagged.

A month of paperwork, in a heap

30 documents are waiting on the right: supplier invoices, customer invoices, expense receipts, a bank statement, and two or three things that have no business being there. Ten different layouts, one document photographed crooked, one duplicate.

One click, and it all comes back sorted, coded, totalled, with everything that looks wrong flagged.

Company, customers, suppliers and amounts entirely fictional. No real registration or VAT number.

How it is built

The model reads, the code checks. Every document is read by a language model that extracts its fields. Everything that can be verified by a calculation or a cross-check — duplicates, mismatches between net, VAT and gross, numbering gaps, inconsistent dates, totals — is then recomputed in PHP, deterministically. Nothing that matters depends on the model’s opinion.

A document too degraded to read is flagged as unreadable rather than guessed at. That is deliberate: an invented value costs more than an empty cell.

The checks are mechanical and do not replace a chartered accountant. No tax advice is produced, neither on rates, nor on deductibility, nor on filings.

Who built this

My name is Nicolas Baier. I have been writing code since 2005, on my own, with no imposed framework or CMS, building the tools companies cannot buy off the shelf: business applications, internal portals, automations.

This page is not a product. It is a demo module, built to show a mechanism. Yours would be wired to your own documents, your own vocabulary and your own rules.

Frequently asked questions

Are the invoices being analysed real?

No. All thirty documents are fictional: invented company, fake registration number, a “fictional example” watermark on every page. No real document passes through this page.

What do the checks catch?

Duplicates and near-duplicates, mismatches between net + VAT and gross, missing numbers or due dates, documents outside the period, undetailed VAT, gaps in the numbering. The model reads the documents; the checks are then recomputed in PHP, deterministically.

Can the AI get an amount wrong?

It can — which is exactly why the code re-checks everything behind it. Whatever cannot be read or verified is flagged as such, never filled in with an invention.

Could my own invoices be processed like this?

Yes, that is the point: the same foundation, wired to your documents, your chart of accounts and your rules, with an export into your existing tool. Full details on the process automation page.

How much does a run cost?

Nothing. Three free runs per visitor over 48 hours, no account, no sign-up. Analysing the thirty documents takes about twenty seconds.

Does this module speak to you?

Tell me in two lines what you would want it to do at your company. I reply within 24 hours, with no sales follow-up.

Or, more simply: fifteen minutes on the phone.
